My Granddaddy...

I have no idea where these children are, who they are or how old they are but, I do know one thing. It looks as though, everyday they went through the exact same toil that my granddaddy did.
Up until he was nine years old, he and his family lived in town and then the moved to the country. In one day they all walked at least 20 miles, carrying all their stuff, which was not much. Graddaddy told daddy that that night he cried himself to sleep when he finally did go to sleep. Granddaddy picked cotton, went to school only up to the fourth grade and so many other that would take forever to name that no child should ever have to do. Not only did he have to pick the cotton at their house, but in order to pay for the house, they worked for other people. The three oldedest daughters worked in town, so at the young and tender age of 12, granddaddy's older sister had to take care of the babies and the house. Granddaddy told daddy about many nights when he would go to bed hungry. This is only a little piece of what Granddaddy went through. I never knew him but him and daddy were very close and Daddy talks about him all the time and loves telling us about him. When Granddaddy got married he bought the old homeplace where he had grown up and the land across the road. Graddaddy and Grandmother raised four wonderful children and were themselves faithful children of God's Kingdom. Grandmother still is but Granddaddy is now with the rest of his family and in the presence of Christ. With all that he went through, he of all people, had a right to be bitter, but he wasn't! When I get mad, or want to be bitter towards someone, I need think of him and his attitude.
With all that he went through Granddaddy left Daddy 86 acres, his younger brother 86 acres and then a whole other farm to his oldest two children and a house for Grandmother. But the sad and amazing thing is, is that he died unexptedly and left all this! And Grandmother was always right there with him. I hope and pray that I can be like my Grandmother and Mama and that my brother's can be like my daddy and Granddaddy. They went through so much so that I could be here today.

Dear Lord,
Thank you so much for all that you have given to me and my family.
Thank you so much for all that Granddaddy left for daddy and the rest of his children.
Thank you for the lagacy that he left.
Amen.
As I was writing, I was reminded of something else that Granddaddy did. Anywhere we go and older people don't know who we are and we say that we are Ralph's grandchildren, most of the time they know exactly who he was and the conversation turns into what a good person he was. And because of his honesty and godly character people respect Daddy and the rest of his children. He did so much! Thank you granddaddy!

Our Quick Visit to the Cousin's

Hello to all! This past weekend we had to make quick trip to the Cousin's! The Lord has blessed Noel with a device called a VNS, it has helped her epilepsy oh so very much! It is a lot like a Pacemaker, but for your brain instead of your heart. Well, the battery in it is dieing and the surgery needs to be done up here so, at 7:00 on Friday night we left out! I don't think I have ever gotten that much stuff packed into two days ever! It was great! God kept us safe, blessed our time together, and we had many laughs, smiles, hugs and kisses from little ones! OK, lets see if I can be concise about what all we did,

  • Friday: Went to a funeral from 2:00-4:30, then left out at 7:00pm, arrived at destination at 3:00am
  • Saturday morning and afternoon: This time was spent with the Cousin's outside, playing the Wii, and games on the computer (for those of us talented enough!)
  • Saturday Afternoon: At this time we went to Darell's parent's house. His mom fixed us a wonderful super and we had a great time! Then we went to Darell's house (I haven't even known him long and that sounds weird). There we watched Pride and Prejudice.
  • Sunday Morning and Afternoon: God blessed us with an AWESOME church service! I always love going to the Cousin's church! Evangelist Rick Coram preached. Then after church Darell came to the Cousin's and had lunch with us! Aunt Renee is such a good cook! And she has eleven amazing helpers!
  • Sunday Evening: Darell took us to a place that he and Noel like to go to. THE BEACH!!! We didn't get to stay long because it started to rain. :( Then Daniel, his brother met us for pizza and ice cream! Thanks Darell! We had a blast!!!
  • Monday: This was the sad, last day. But Daddy was gracious and let us leave in the afternoon instead of the morning. WoW! I didn't realize how much we had done!
  • OH!!! And when we got home Monday night do you know what was in our mailbox?!?!?!? We are approved by C.I.S. to bring two orphans into the U.S.A.!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you Lord and thanks everyone for all of your prayers!!!
Well, so much for being concise.

Here are some pics of our blessed weekend!!

Eben, Smiley and Aunt Renee!
We love you guys!

Our little twinkies,
do you notice anything?

My sister has her "own" kitchen!
It is so weird to think that in August my sister will be living here!

Keeping the little ones occupied before we leave for church.

Twp peas in a pod! Haha!
Hope helping fix lunch Sunday after church.

Smiley makin' 'em run for it!

Daddy's little girl!

He is going to be such a good daddy!

The love birds took us to the beach!
Even though we didn't get to stay long we had a lot of fun!!
We had enough time for some pictures, a race and even some tears.

It was amazing being able to take off our shoes and walk on the beach in JANUARY!
God is so awesome!
You may be wondering why above I said "even some tears." As I stood on the beach looking East I just wished that I could run across the Atlantic, and hug Sweet Pea and J Man and bring them home! Oh how I want them to be home! Up until that moment, I believed that we were adopting, but it was like RIGHT then that I realized, that two of a my siblings are thousands of miles away from me and my family where they belong! How I long for them to be home. Thank you for all your prayers and please continue to pray as you are lead.

Well, on a lighter note, there is a funny story (at least for me) about this restaurant. A lot of times Noel and Darell will go to the beach, meet his family here, eat pizza together then go get ice cream. Well, since they do that a lot they wanted to show it to us. Well, when Noel would tell us about doing this, she just said they would go to "the loop." Well, I thought that they just made a loop when they went to these three places. When I told them that it was really funny! So, if you ever have wondered, "The Loop" is a restaurant.

Then we went to ice cream!
Thanks for such a fun evening Darell and thanks for joining us Daniel!

Who do you think is going to be an AWESOME mother and happy to have her hands full one day?
I know!

This Little Lady Bug walked all the way up the stairs with these shoes on!
Do you think she like shoes? Maybe, she just sleeps with them!

WE WILL BE BACK!!!!
WE ALREADY MISS Y'ALL!!
LOVE AND HOPE TO SEE YOU GUYS SOON!

God Bless,
Joy.

Thoughts From a Thankful Heart That Runneth Over...

The Lord has blessed our family with many friends. Some we hear from and see often but some we see only on occasion and might receive a CHRISTmas card from. Today, some treasured CHRISTmas cards landed in our mail box. Yes, they were late but why should we call them late? I have always wondered why when Christ gets here we STOP celebrating? He is here! Why not celebrate even more? Any way, back to the CHRISTmas card. The one I would like to talk about was from a friend we haven't seen in quite a while. They are a wonderful, godly couple. They waited very long before they met each other and now are very happy together! You can see Christ in them when they smile it seems! They are wonderful people, but have had a hard year. They have no children of their own and long to be parents. They would be such wonderful parents. They were then called and told that there might be chance they would be able to adopt a newborn. They were oh so very excited! But, they then received word that they would not be receiving the baby. When I read this in their letter it broke my heart. Why God has done tis, I do not know. But what I do know is this, that the very same thing could of happened to us. We could of been told "no", your family is to big, any number of things could of been told to us. But the Lord said, YES! They are yours! How I wish this couple could of been told yes, but after I read what had happened to them, it showed me something. What they have experienced in being told 'No, you cannot adopt this child," is like what Christ is told all the time! He wants to adopt each and everyone of us into His Kingdom, but countless times He is told, "No! I do not want you to adopt me!" I have no idea how it would be to be told no, adopting in our world when you just pay with money that you have had to work for, but to be told no when you have paid the price with your son's life! I cannot imagine either situation, for the Lord has granted our adoption of these two little ones and no will ever be able to imagine the agony that God goes through every time He is told no!

In closing, I want to thank the Lord for allowing our family the privilege to adopt these little ones and thank Him for even wanting to adopt me! I cannot imagine after going through all that Christ went through and want to save me! A great sinner!

Thank you Father,
For allowing me to become a part of your family!
May I be a light for your kingdom.
May I be able to help raise these two little treasures that you have allowed us the privilege to adopt!

May they be two more brought up to worship and honor you!
Amen!

God Bless,
Joy.

Fireproof

Last night my sisters and I were able to go see Fireproof! It was such an awesome movie. There were times when I wanted to cry, when my heart would stop beating, and parts when you wanted to squeal! It was such a God honoring movie. The people who made it really poured there hearts into it. Some parts were heart wrenching for me and my sisters but Mama said that it was even more so because she and Daddy have been married for twenty seven years. I would really encourage anyone to go see it! It was such a blessing!

God Bless,
Joy.
