Louisiana Mission Trip 2009 part 1

This years trip was a milemarker for me. Thursday night we always have "awards ceremony." It is a time where we embarass everyone who is new and has done a little something embarassing. Well, after that we have communoin. Right before we had communion I stepped forward to give my life to the Lord and asked Him to save me from the firery depths of hell. I had been doubting my salvation since about May and, on Thursday, June 18th, I was able to nail it down! God has saved my soul and I am completely His!

He did so much for us on this trip, as he always does. He blessed us with strength and energy. It was an amazing trip and the church was so thankful for us to be there. I will tell you about the trip in a couple posts because there is no way that I could do it in one. So, I will start with Friday and Saturday.

Friday morning we left a local church here in our community at about seven.
Hit a local truck stop for biscuits and then hit the road.

As you can see these hard working young men are replacing a tire. Well, to summ it up, God really had his hand the van that all of us young people were on. We were probably about five hours away from our destination and come to find out, the tire on our rental van was warped!
So, thankfuly we had already planned on stopping at church we had worked on years back and while there, we discovered the spare was even in worse condition! So, a member of the church went and got another tire for us!
And, you know how Satan will throwe firey darts at you? Well, this next thing that happened to us was almost literaly a firey dart. As we were riding down the interstate, people were bushhogging on the side of the road. A piece of rubber got caught in one of the bushhoos and was blown out. It flew up and hit the end of the van. This peice of rubber put a dent in the van right above the back right tire.
God kept us so safe!

Then we settled in on Friday night and a yummy super was fed to us by the church memebers. Saturday moring we (us girls) started putting up insalation!!! YuKK!! But, we had something to do, so, that is always nice. While we did that,

the guys were on the roof! Glad that I wasn't up there. They worked so hard in the heat, but, thankfuly for a lot of the time it was overcast so that helped out a lot.

Saturday night a sweet little couple from their church invited us to their diner! It was so great!
Have you ever seen six girls sitting at one booth?
Think it won't work?
Well, we made it work! It was such a blast! The whole week was.
After a DELICIOUS supper of fried catfish, AMAZING hushpuppies, fries, slaw and cake, there was pickin' and grinnin'!
The evening was ended with Amazing Grace.

Philippians 4:6-7
6Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
God bless!
Your new sister in Christ,
Joy.

Our EXCITING life!!!!

As you can probably tell, this title is ery sarcastic! To most, I am sure that our life would drive them CRAZY because it seems we do nothing! But hey, we go five miles every Tuesday and go watch American Idol at our Aunt and Unlce's house, we go to church, people are always at our house, we go to town, (sometimes) we milk the cow! (as below)
One Saturday evening us girls were eating super together.
Then I got the idea that we should go to town and get a cookie ( there is a bakery in town and you can get cookies "the size of your head" according to Mama for just a dollar.)
So said that she would help milk so we could leave sooner! It was GREAT!!
The same evening Marigrace thought os a great game! We each got three index cards, (WARNING:this game is for single women only)
on #1 you descibe a guy, crazy, dreamy, however you want,
#2 you describe your house
#3 you desribe where you are going to live.
Then you mix them all up and everyone gets a #1, #2, and a #3!
It is SO FUNNY!!!
Hope also loves to find fun movies! We all can't wait for this to to come out:
Night at the Museun Two.
The Trailor is really funny

This is the same night when were playing the game and Hope described her dream life and she was holding on to them as a joke and said she couldn't let go.
IT WAS HILARIOUS!!
Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not. Jeremiah 33:3

See, we have an exciting life full of God's awesome blessings!!

Thank you for giving me this awesome life and family, Lord!!

"I Simply Think of My Favorite Things...

Noel working in Louisiana on the Carpenters for Christ Mission trpNoel and a good friend, a fireman who has come on the trips for many years.

Noel loves to do carpentry! Absolutely LOVES it!!! It is so much fun to work with her because she knows what she is doing. But she doesn't just do it because she is good at it, she does it because she loves it! She loves to teach others about the craftsmanship of carpentry, she is so patient, she makes it to where you can understand what she is trying to teach you.

Love and miss you Noel!

God Bless, Joy.

"I Simply Think of my Favorite Things..."

I think that one of Hope's favorite things to do would have to involve playing the piano!
Hope LOVES to, yes, play the piano but she loves to share the talent that the Lord has given her by teaching His little children.
She is at a piano camp right now and there has been much less piano music going
on in our house this week!

She also can sing like Princess Aurora!

She is an AMAZING pianist, teacher, friend, sister and many other things!

Thank you Lord for letting Hope be one of my sisters!

"I Simply Think of My Favorite Things...

"And Then I Don't Feel So Bad!"

I think that pretty much one of the boys favorite things to do is...

"Play Ball!"

They are both on a team in our community and they both REALLY enjoy it!

Buddy is all time pitcher with a fast ball at 50MPH.
Not counting the 2 games Buddy's team played this week, he has had 70 strike outs!!
He also is an AWESOME 3rd basemen when he is having to let his arm rest from a previous game.

Little Man is either short stop, left field or pitcher.
He says that he enjoys short stop the most because there is a lot of action there and he jumps right in the middle of it and has hardly missed any balls this season at all!!!
One night he had to play left field and was bored to death.
It was really funny to watch him dance around in the field but pay attention at the same time!

"Hit it boy!!"

"Did you see me?"
How couldn't we you were awesome!

"MAKE 'EM SWING BUDDY!"
Notice the brown blob on the left hand side of the picture.

Look at me Buddy!
"What'd ya say?"

THANK YOU LORD FOR MY LITTLE BROTHERS!!
THEY ARE SO AWESOME AND SO MUCH FUN!!
