"Self-control means controlling the tongue!
A quick retort can ruin everything."
Today me and Baby Girl went and helped a near a group of people finish
the out side of a fellowship hall.
We were all excited about being able to help because we love to do construction work!
Well, when we getting out of the car,
someone that really drives me crazy and all we do is argue, pulls into the parking lot.
Right before I got out I sent up a short to God asking him to have us working on opposite ends of the building and then I knew that everything would be okay.
Well, as we were getting everything ready to start working, the man in charge of the project,
"Leah-Joy, your gonna be this hear fella's right hand man."
AHHHHHHHHHHHHH, NOOOOOO!!!!
I cannot work with this guy!
Well, anyhow, so around the building we went with our latters, staple gun and ply wood.
And it was amazing!
We never argued, picked on each other or anything!
I don't know about him but I think that the Lord must of had my tung because there
was more then once when I wanted to say something rude or negative but I didn't.
I can't think of any other time when the Lord has given me that much self control.
It is amazing the way He chooses to teach us lessons
because I really have been being quit rude with my mouth and I know that God helped me
with that then He will help with everything else!
Thank you Father for helping me have control of my tongue and not ruining a wonderful day!

Darlin, my mouth has been getting me in trouble most all of my life! There is quite a lot of scripture concerning the things we say. As far as you being able to have self control that day working with that person, God may have been showing you that even though you iritate each other, you do share some common ground...working hard and Loving God! I love you!!!
Aunt Jenny
Thanks Aunt Jenny and you are right about the 2 things that we do have in common b/c that person really can work hard!
Dear Joy~Joy,
When you were little, I worried about you because you were so head strong, and I prayed that you would be head strong for the Lord. And you are. Praise God! Please keep speaking up for Christ; keep being bold when it comes to standing up for what is right. Then, when it comes to rude remarks or mean snappy come backs, hold your tongue. Ask for God's help EVERY morning. He will give you the grace and strength that you need for ONE day.
"I shall conquer this, I shall!"
I love you dearly,
Mama
Good for you!! That little part of our body can get us into a heap of trouble!
And, I believe that God did answer your prayer as He allowed you to display the fruit of self-control.
Blessings,
Debbie
Hey Leah-Joy,
I know EXACTLY what that is like. (Let me relate.) I went to camp and there was this really annoying weird girl... that I detested! I don't think I was that pleasant, and I kept praying we wouldn't sit next to each other and all this stuff, but we did all the time. Any how, the week ended and I was soo glad she was out of my life.
...next year at camp, on the first day I was up on my bunk making my bed and some people come in. I heard her voice! I was screeching inside! I was thinking, "Why do I have to tolerate her for another week???" Well, God really taught me a lesson that week. I found out that her family was in a tough situation... and her mom was being really protective and that was why she was so odd. But any way, I now really aprieciate her. So... I have been in the same situation. I prayed all the time that I wouldn't be bratty to her! God was soo good to me! There were so many times I could have said mean things that I didn't! So, you aren't alone in this!

(Sorry that was kind of a long post :))
I've thought about this post all during the day today. Thank you for being so transparent and such an example.
I love you dearly,
Mama
Thank you for this post.
This is something that I can stand some improvement in.
